More than 20 children from forbidden relationships were found in Germany, Austria and the Netherlands and took part in the "neverthelesse here!" project. With their memories, documents and photos, they laid the foundation for the realisation of the travelling exhibition.
The biographies that form the centrepiece of the exhibition show examples of similarities, but also the diversity in the lives of the project participants. The protagonists themselves have their say in excerpts from video interviews. The stories of the (biological) parents are also traced. In addition, each biography deals with a historical topic related to the life story.
